Eco-Couture
Refined.
Glamorous. Green.
"I want my
collection to be clothes that women will
want to wear and know that they're manufactured in a way that is less harmful
to the planet should follow as an added
bonus. Green should extend beyond the
idea of simply recycling or refashioning a
garment into something new...all aspects of
its creation should be considered.
Finally, and most importantly, the cut, fit and construction
should all contribute to clothes that are
comfortable and timeless - while focusing on beautifying
and complimenting their owners." ~
Elizabeth
From
concept to runway, minimizing our impact on
the environment is a consideration for all
aspects of our company. We source
materials that are sustainable for all our
collections. From natural fibers -hand woven
silks and sustainable cottons, to PET
satin taffeta linings made from recycled plastic
bottles - we fashion them into clothing that
is fashion forward and feminine. We
carefully select only fabric manufacturers
that employ fair-trade labor and use
vegetable dyes for our colored and imported
fabrics and embellishments.
Our
manufacturing and design is focused on
achieving a "ZERO waste" factor and cuttings
and remnants are refashioned into
handmade flowers and accents. All
dresses are hand cut & hand finished
employing local labor. Our
office & manufacturing spaces extend the
"ZERO waste" philosophy to our business
operations as well. We do not offer
printed catalogues, minimize the use of
paper & printing, and share space for energy
efficiency. We will be COMPLETELY
"off-the grid" by summer 2011 using
100% wind power for our offices
and production.
Elizabeth generously supports several charities
